The Flying Eagles of Nigeria in the early hours of today lost their first match at the ongoing U20 FIFA World Cup taking place in New Zealand. The Nigerians lost the match by two goals to four against Brazil. Nigeria 2 - Brazil 4.
The Brazilians opened scoring in the game through Gabriel Fernando de Jesus in the 4th minute but goals from Isaac success and Musa Yahaya in the 10th and 28th minute respectively gave us the lead. The Brazilians hovever equalised through Judivan in the 38th minute as the first half ended in a two-all stalemate.
When the second half resumed the flying Eagles couldn't keep up with the high tempo of the Brazilians as Gabriel Boschilia and Judivan with his second of the game gave the Brazilians all three points in the mouthwatering encounter. This is the first defeat for the flying Eagles in about two years.
Nigeria’s next game will be against Korea DPR on Thursday June 4, 2015 at the Stadium Taranaki in New Plymouth.
