A bronze bust of Bill Cosby is to be removed from Hollywood Studios
A bronze statue of comedian Bill Cosby is being removed from the Hollywood Studios theme park, Walt Disney World officials have said.
The bust, which is located at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza in the Orlando park, was set to be removed on Tuesday night after the park had closed.
Brittany Gavriolva, who started a petition in December calling for the statue to be removed after her aunt made allegations against Cosby, told WKMG: "He has no place in Disney. It's not a place for a predator.
Cosby, 77, has never been criminally charged over the accusations
"To see the bust of Bill Cosby as a hero on a pedestal in Disney after the family history, and we know of what happened to my aunt all those years ago, it's hurtful."
It comes after documents from a 2005 civil law suit revealed The Cosby Show star had admitted obtaining sedatives Quaaludes with the intent to give them to women he wanted to have sex with.
The case was settled for an undisclosed amount in 2006.
More than 40 women have come forward in the last year and accused the 77-year-old of drugging and sexually assaulting them.
Cosby has never been criminally charged over the accusations and has not commented on the lawsuit documents.
Many of the claims date back to the 1970s and are too old for him to face criminal proceedings.
